Mania
Mania is a component of a bipolar I disorder. Individuals who experience mania usually have another mood that occurs in a cycle. The other mood can be depression or a baseline mood. Bipolar I disorder interferes with a persons ability to function at home, a work, and/or in relationships. Bipolar disorder is identified by a psychiatric professional that conducts a thorough assessment and screening. Effective treatment is available for Bipolar.

Mania is an abnormally and persistently elevated, expansive, or irritable Inflated self-esteem or grandiosity
•Decreased need for sleep
•Being more talkative or having pressured speech
•Flight of ideas or racing thoughts
•Distractibility
•Increase in goal-directed activity or psychomotor agitation
•Excessive involvement in pleasurable activities that have a high potential for painful consequences such as illicit sex, drugs/alcohol abuse, excessive buying or spending.
